Hyundai and Honda – Not The Same

January 27th, 2010

In the past year, Hyundai Motor Corp. seems to have ridden the recent wave of success, as their overall vehicle brand value and respect amongst consumers has skyrocketed to the level of the likes of other car companies, such as Honda. Nowadays, buyers looking for a new car are impressed with the innovation, style, and performance of Hyundai – forcing other manufacturers to view the car company as a serious threat on the market. However, some are still unaware of the high consumer satisfaction ratings that have followed the introduction of the latest models of Hyundai vehicles. A few examples are listed below:

1) Wise Investments

When compared to Honda and other companies, Hyundai has spent their investments wisely, as they plunged deep into the waters of research and have victoriously found new ways to develop their product. Their latest efforts showcase competitive models highlighting great strides in planning and design.

2) 2007 Hyundai Elantra vs 2007 Honda Civic

The 2007 Hyundai Elantra is jam-packed with an assortment of features – offered for less money. For close to $500 less than the Honda, a steering wheel radio; Bluetooth and XM connectivity; and cruise controls come with the 2007 Hyundai. Another difference is the basic warranty – Honda Civic offers three years (or 36,000 miles), while the Hyundai Elantra supplies a five-year basic warranty (or 60,000 miles). The Elantra has also gained a status for producing comfortable seating, including relaxing spaces for rear passengers.

3) 2008 Hyundai Sonata vs 2008 Honda Accord

When comparing the features of these two popular 4-door sedans – you will notice that the Hyundai provides a slightly higher amount of legroom and shoulder room for drivers and passengers. The Sonata offers the option of a sunroof for $900 extra, whereas the Honda Accord is not equipped with this specification. For music lovers, the stock speakers of the Hyundai Sonata accommodate a higher level of wattage. As for the price, a consumer looking to take advantage of a collection of satisfying features for less should seriously consider the 2008 Hyundai Sonata, as it is priced at $22,345 – nearly $3,000 less than the Honda Accord.

4) 2006 Hyundai Tiburon GS vs 2006 Honda Civic Si 6-Spd MT

One of the first glaring differences between the 2006 Hyundai Tiburon and the 2006 Honda Civic is the price tag, where the Tiburon costs about $4,000 less at $16,095. Both vehicles offer access to a standard CD player, yet consumers have the option to also enjoy a cassette player in the Hyundai. While halogen headlights come standard on both cars, the Hyundai provides standard fog lights while Honda only offers this as an extra option. Other features of the Hyundai Tiburon that have impressed buyers include heated exterior mirrors, tinted glass, and 24 MPG (compared to 22 MPG with the Honda).

Overall, Hyundai has made great strides in regards to their overall features, interior, and beyond – making it a viable competitor in the car industry. This has caused automobile leaders (like Honda) to break a sweat.
